Sender / Receiver units
Stainless steel assemblies incorparating epoxy-encapsulated infrared sender and receivers.
Sensors are CE approved and protected to IP67 standard, The operating temperature range is -20° to 70°. An Explosion-proof enclosure is an option.
The units are designed to mount directly to Unistrut or similar structure, Flexible bracket design allows multiple mounting orientations and indicator LEDs permit simple alignment.
Reader wiring to junction box: receiver - 6 (1.82m), sender - 15 (4.57m). Each reader may be located up to 1500 (457.2m) from its control unit using Belden 9773 cable or equivalent. Power for each sender / receiver is supplied by Smarteye control unit
The read distance of up to 84" (2.13m) from sender to receiver can be provided depending on application using standard units, Optional longer read distances are available for special applications

Control Units

SEA units have a built-in front panel display and can support either 2 or 8 standard Smarteye readers. They have optically isolated signals and plug-in screw terminal connections.
The display provides a single LED digit for reader number, 5 LED digits for label or error number, 3 LED digits for message age and 15 LED digits for reader diagnostics
Serial Communication is provided with fully configurable RS232 [up to 50 (15.24m)] and RS485 [up to 4000 (1219.2m) point-to-point or multi-drop]
S-net Controllers
In order to meet the need for a single port reader interface, the S-net range is designed to take full advantage of existing plant-floor control networks. It communicates and can optionally be powered via the fieldbus lines simplifying integration and reducing installation costs. As with all Smarteye products, the S-nets rugged and compact packaging is designed to withstand the harshest material handling environments.
S-net Controllers are available for Ethernet and DeviceNet, both providing full slave functionality
